Some basics: I'm in my twenties, and my next-of-kin is a chubby feline named Mirabelle. I live in St. Louis, where I study journalism at Washington University and work for a small-town newspaper. I'm also beginning to do the freelance writer thing. Eeep.
I enjoy the simple pleasures of NPR, Americana music, The Office on NBC, and a good steak dinner. David Sedaris makes me laugh, Robert Mitchum makes me drool. I love thunderstorms, and you'll never catch me taking a long walk on the beach.
Why Girl Friday? Well, let's just say that no one's ever going to glamorize the administrative assistant, and as I answer phones, deliver mail, and try desperately to claw my way up the ladder, I need all the glamour I can get.
Of course blogging is a vain hobby, but it gives me an outlet where I can write and play with webdesign. Ah, heaven. While I'm proud of some of the things I write here, I do not take any of it seriously. Neither should you.
